Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of wicked people, or take the path of sinners, or join the company of mockers. Rather, he delights in the teachings of the Lord and reflects on his teachings day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams, a tree that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. He succeeds in everything he does. Psalm 1-3 (God's Word Translation)

If the implanted Word of God is received into our hearts and lives, it will work itself out in our actions. It is never sufficient to simply hear the Word. We must receive it, believe it, and be a doer of it. The implanted Word will flourish and produce lasting fruit when it is sown into the fertile soil of true obedience.

Through His Word I love to wander.

I stop. I question, and I ponder,

Listening as His Spirit speaks,

While in His Word I inquire and seek.

I spend some time. I stop and wait

Even when I'm running late

Because to know what He will say

Is the only way to start my day.
